1988
Originally incorporated as Reefer Repair Services Ltd., our company started out offering unique services to the Province that weren't currently being offered anywhere else. We became a 1-truck mobile operation, providing repair and maintenance services to refrigeration units mounted on sea-going containers, trucks, and tractor-trailers.
1996
Our organization expanded into new premises. Consisting of a 2-acre lot and a 4,800 square foot building with 3 drive-thru service bays, office, and warehouse space. This expansion allowed for a secondary area of business that consists of repair and maintenance of all types of road transport vehicles.
2000
Our company expanded to Western Newfoundland (Corner Brook). Finally, we were able to offer the Corner Brook waterfront repair and maintenance services for containers, refrigerated reefer units, and sea-going containers.
2003
Our company expanded even further by adding a fully operational container handling, storage, and dispatching terminal. This 5-acre paved, and fenced yard, has a holding capacity for over 1,000 containers and chassis. With plug-in shore power also available for refrigerated loaded containers, waiting to board the ship for delivery to their final destination.
2009
Reefer Repair Services Ltd. expanded again, with our own brand of TRP parts, to supply the truck and trailer industry with full-service and parts.
2011
Reefer Repair Services Ltd. moved to our new 35,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility. Making us the biggest, and largest, Kenworth Dealership in Atlantic Canada.
2017
Kenworth of Newfoundland & Labrador - Reefer Repair Services Ltd. added a Corner Brook location and acquired Hyundai sales, parts, and service. Now offering parts and service all the way from the east coast part of the island to the west coast.
2019
Kenworth of Newfoundland & Labrador - Reefer Repair Services Ltd. added Kenworth Truck Sales to its list of services. Giving us the ability to provide an exceptional customer service experience, as your one-stop-shop!
Today
Today, our service and parts department have more than tripled in size compared to our previous location. The 35,000 sq.-ft facility, located on 5-acres at 172 Glencoe Dr. (Mount Pearl) in Donovans Industrial Park allows us to expand our service department from three to ten drive-thru service bays. The department now has ample room for 20 full-time trained technicians to work on trucks, trailers, containers, and equipment.
Each 120-foot long service bay is long enough to fit a tractor and two trailers in a B-train configuration. Located just off the Trans-Canada Highway, our facility includes a 1,600 sq.-ft parts display area and a 4,800 sq.-ft parts warehouse. We also have a dedicated service bay for providing wheel alignments.
The dealership offers 24-hour emergency service and operates a mobile service unit. Our Corner Brook branch is open from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, while our Mount Pearl flagship location is now open from 8 a.m. to Midnight Monday through Friday, as well as 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
In 2022, we opened our third branch in Grand Falls-Windsor, which is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
